It has been 4 years since I started my prerequisites. I've been going non stop and haven't missed a semester.

For me? I did anatomy I, English I, English II, anatomy II, psych, developmental psych, all in a year. My math transferred in from when I was a university student during high school. I did my micro later during the program because I put it off a dozen times.

I only had high school prerequisites but I decided to take university-transferrable credits prior to applying to nursing, to have a better chance of getting accepted and to lighten up my course load once I was. It took about 3 years and I wish I took all the health sciences before applying instead of mostly Arts courses.

Initially I wanted to do ADN, and if I'd stayed on that path, 3 semesters. I decided to go BSN instead, which took 5. (One during a summer, so 2 years of full time study.)

2 semesters, I took accelerated A&P in the first (with other classes) and then chem and micro (with other classes) in the second. I CLEPed my English and I maxed out mathematics placement so didn't have to do that. In three semesters (fall-summer) I've managed to take all pre-reqs, all nursing school co-reqs, and a computer concepts class (mostly MS Office training). All I will have to do during nursing school is the actual NUR classes. I have two very extracurricularly active kids so getting my nursing school load to the bare minimum was absolutely necessary. Let's hope it pays off!

I finished all my pre-req's in about 4 years by taking two to three classes at a time. Keep plugging at it... When you finish all your classes you will be amazed that you have worked so hard. :) Keep plugging away. choo choo.

I have one course to take and I'll be eligible for admission, then it's 4 semesters of actual nursing school.

Just started back up in school and have gotten through two semesters (Math and Chemistry). Need another full semester and a half to go for the very basic-can-apply-to-a-school pre-reqs. But I'm guessing a full two years to cover most other schools needs for application.

This summer willbe four years that I have been doing pre-requisites. I only have 3 more classes left and then I'm going to apply to the nursing program in the fall for the Spring of 2015.

Three and a half years at 2 classes per semester. Not count my 5 semesters of remedial math to get to the College Algebra I needed.
