How long did it take you for LPN-RN through EC?

I am comtemplating going to Excelsior College. I think this forum is great and have been reading everyone's experiences. I was just wondering how long it took people to get through the LPN to RN transition. I thought about going the traditional route with my school but I am not happy at all with the school itself. I am very self driven and I am definately NOT a lecture person, love to read. I want to work right away as an LPN and be able to be home more with my family. Just curious how long I'm looking at and how much time you put into studying every week, etc. - How long on average did it take you to finish a module? Thanks everyone! :D

Everyone is different but it took me 1 year. I enrolled in the EC Nursing program Dec 12, 2007 and finished the CPNE Dec 7th, 2008. My friend enrolled Feb 2008 and finished Nov 2, 2008. She is a real go-getter and like to take chances. She would have been finshed September 21,2008 but she failed the CPNE. She called the NPAC office almost daily and got a date 1.5 months later. She is an extreme case, everyone can't do that.We really pushed each other and talked on the phone daily.

DW finished in just over 11 months, looks like I'm going to go about 18 months (been waiting for a cpne date at a particular location since Sept, so could have possibly been shorter). Keep your focus, and (unlike me) don't be too picky and you should be able to knock it out pretty fast.

I took 11 months (was only enrolled that long) but knocked out the first test while I waited on admission into the program. I had also completed all my pre-reqs before I enrolled. I had about a 4.5 month wait for the CPNE where I did nothing but study for the CPNE an take the FCCA. Each test took me about 3 weeks to study (have a FT job, baby, ect..). Some tests where the info seemed harder took a little more time. You can always reschedule your exam if needed.

It took me one year, one month, and one day from the date of my first exam to the date I completed the clinical exam. Not bad! I had more exams than just the nursing ones, though. The longest part of my year&month&day was the wait for the CPNE -- I applied for the CPNE in November 2007 and didn't test until June 2008.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I am also very thankful for this forum. I went to a meeting with The College Network and they told me the only way to do the LPN-RN transition was through them and that it would be much more easier that way because they do EVERYTHING and I just sit back and wait for my materials. I am so glad I am doing a little more research and recieving loads of input from reading everyone's posts!

Yes, the whole meeting with the two guys who came to the "very small" conference from TCN - and when I say small, there were only 4 people there. It just made me uncomfortable and they just about wouldn't let me leave until I set up an appointment to make my first payment. I did set one up but ended up cancelling it later. Did you all go through TCN?

I didn't. Some people here did get roped into contracts, though.
