How long did it take you to get accepted?

I'm just curious how long it took people to get accepted into RN programs? I'm hearing the ratio of applicants vs the amount of slots open makes it very difficult and some people have to apply year after year.

I applied in Jan. and I am starting in Aug.. This was the first time I that applied.

Specializes in Emergency.

SAA. Applied to just one school in December, got my acceptance in February and start in July.

I live in Kansas and applied last year with a 31 ACT score and a 3.0 GPA but didnt get in. Last year it came down to the fact that I lived in a different county than the school was in, with the residency I would have gotten in. I took some remedial classes simply to raise me GPA to a 3.5 and moved to the county of the school, I start in Aug. While I was beligerant mad about having to take classes like principles of chem after having completed chem I and chem II I did start working as a PCT and I think the experience will help me immensely in school.

I applied in january and got my acceptance letter in March (two days after the dead line date). That was the first time I applied and I was worried even though I've got a really high GPA but I got in.

1 month to Emory. Applied January 9th, got accepted on the 15th of Feb.

Indiana, I got accepted into LPN program first try.

Seems it really depends a lot on your geographic location and grades.

If you have decent grades here, easy to get in.

I applied in Feb, was accepted in March and begin the Accelerated 2nd-degree BSN program in July. This was my first try. My GPA is a 3.3 from my previous degree in Management.

Specializes in OB.

Graduated High School in May and started ADN in August, the youngest student~

Sometime last semester I switched majors to nursing (from accounting & finance:uhoh3: ). I applied in Jan, was accepted in March and start in Septemeber. Sometimes I still think they got me mixed up w/ another student.

It's ok Melcia.. I was in the IT field as a network administrator, systems analyst, tech manager, etc, for the past 10 years. At least you didn't wait that long to figure it out! :lol2:

I've been in the IT field over 20 years and can't stand how unstable it is anymore. Even worse now that companies are sending everything overseas. It does seem to depend on your location though. From what I've seen so far here in CT there are 4 times the applicants then spots open every year so if you are not a straight A you aren't getting in.
