How long does it take to finish the LPN to RN excelsior nursing program?

Nursing Students Excelsior

Updated:   Published

Hi,

I am currently an LPN in TN. I am looking to enroll in the excelsior nursing program this August. I have heard of people completing the program in 6 months and I would like to do so, seeing that I am moving to Orlando and there are so many RN opportunities. Has anyone finished the excelsior nursing program in 6 months? I am sure I have all my pre-req seeing that I have a Bachelors Degree already. If you did finish in 6 months, how often did you study, what material did you use, and how often did you test? Thanks:)

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.

Your question has been asked many, many times. Have you tried the search function?

what is your bachelor's in? you will probably have difficulty doing it that quick because of the new fcca course requirement and wait time for the cpne. I finished the nursing classes in 7 weeks and waited 6 months for a cpne date.

If you dont mind me asking how did you study for the 7 nursing classes and how often did you test? I dont mind waiting for the CPNE, i just really want to get those nursing classes over so that I can focus on cpne. Also I have a degree in Public Health Administration

I used studygroup101 and the excelsior practice exams. I am sure you are familiar, but it doesn't seem like that degree would have some of the requirements of the as in nursing. also, keep in mind the a&p and micro have to be within the last 5 years.

Before October 1, 2012 one could advance without completing A&P and micro first. There were many changes as of Oct 1

yeah plus you could take the first two nursing classes without enrolling. so I did those first, then enrolled.

Soooo... One could technically be done with the actual grunt work of this program in less than 6m buuutt... the kicker and sticker is waiting for the CPNE? that correct?

you aren't so much waiting as you are worrying there's not enough time to study for it, no matter when your date is.

Hey reebok! I'm in a similar situation I have my bachelors in sports med already so only have like 6 classes before FCCA and CPNE. That is very encouraging how timely you completed your exams!! You didn't purchase textbooks at all?? Thanks!
