I was just curious to find out how long your nursing programs are. I'm starting my real nursing courses this fall (yay!) :) for my BSN. It lasts for 5 semesters (but only includes the fall & spring semesters), which means I will graduate in Dec. 2006. How about you?
:)
We have the following pre reqs/ co reqs:
psych
speech
chemistry
history
comp 1
a&p
micro
human lifespan
sociology
then we have 4 semesters of nursing courses. So, it is "possible" to do this all in about 5 semesters-but my school recommends you do all pre/co reqs prior to "entering the program"-so my ADN program can take from 2.5 to 4 years.
My LPN program is 3 semesters. The bridge program I am going into afterwards is 2 semesters (M-F 8AM-4PM). So, I guess the answer in total is 5 semesters, but only because I will be CLEPing the last of my pre/co reqs and going directly into the bridge, since I only have 3 or 4 left from my almost completed (but changed majors :uhoh21: ) AA degree from 2001.
Our program, including prereqs, could be finished in a minimum of 5 semesters with summers off if you work your rear off.
Most people take an extra semester or two on prereq/coreqs before starting the actual nursing classes and take other classes during summers. One of my friends in class has been going at this part time for 4 years already and we still have one year to go.
