How long is your nursing program?

I was just curious to find out how long your nursing programs are. I'm starting my real nursing courses this fall (yay!) :) for my BSN. It lasts for 5 semesters (but only includes the fall & spring semesters), which means I will graduate in Dec. 2006. How about you?

:)

Mine is also fall spring summer, fall, spring....then rn . I start on Aug. 18 I am so excited. But its such a long time away before rn.

Programs are designed around standard established by the state and other governing bodies (AACN, NLN, etc.). Our local university requires 123 hours to complete the BSN program. The "generic" students, who are not working and can go to day classes, can finish the program in 8 semesters plus part of one summer. However, the majority of students are working, so they enroll in 2-3 classes a semester, which extends their time.

Mine is 4 semesters no summers. I have also done 3 semesters of general classes.

2 years. We begin next week (July 7) and graduate May 2006. That's actually 4 semesters and one half-summer term. We have next summer off, but can choose to do some extra courses/internship type work.

4 semesters. You can do it over two years or get it all done in 16 months.

My nursing program (BSN) is five semesters long.

8 semesters, including summers.

My BScN program (in Ontario, Canada ) is 2 years long - with July & August off. In order to get into this program there are many prerequisite classes that take a minimum of two years full time study. So the minimum time length to get the degree is four years.....

ADN-5 semesters

I'm in the ADN program and it's 4 semesters. Michelle:)

6 semesters, once you have been accepted into the program (BSN). No summers though! That is both good and bad.....we could be done sooner, but I have had a MUCH needed break this summer. Starting August 30th, it's back to sleepless nights and constant stress. :uhoh3: But it wouldn't be worth it if I didn't love it!! :)

my program is a 3 year full-time bsn program including summers (summer sessions are 6 weeks with 12 hour clinicals), but since i already have a degree and was able to complete my prerequisites along with the nursing courses it will take me 2 years instead.
