How long after graduation did it take to get your ATT?

Just curious about how long it should be before I start looking for it in the mail or freaking out is probably going to be more the case!! We were told that our Deen would mail it in as soon as they had all the final grades in and I am assuming that was done Monday since we got our grades yesterday in the mail. Any clue anyone? How long did it take everyone to get theirs?

Also, how soon after you get your ATT are you going to take your test? I want to do it ASAP but also feel like I need some time to refresh and get down the things that I had problems with too.

Any feedback appreciated!!

I graduated on April 28th and received my packet of information from our BRN about a week later. I had to do my NCLEX registration through Pearson Vue, and I did that immediately. I had my ATT in my email within an hour of registering and paying the fees.

I took the NCLEX this past Monday, May 9th. Our local hospitals have set up a Kaplan review for the end of this month and then another in the beginning of June, but I sure as heck didn't want to wait that long. I don't see how waiting and going to yet another review would have helped me. Most of my questions were common sense kinda stuff, and I had A LOT of prioritzing questions. I had heard from last semester students that they had lots of diabetes and thyroid questions so I spent lots of time studying those things...I had zero diabetes questions!

Now I am at the mercy of my school. I can't find out my results until the school gets our final transcripts to the BRN. I am a bit perplexed as to why we are allowed to take the NCLEX without the final transcripts but we can't find out our results. I can see not issuing the license, but I don't get why they won't even release your result, contingent upon receiving the transcripts. UGH!!!

Good luck on taking your test. I would HIGHLY recommend taking it as soon as possible and not waiting long. You know the info..it's just a matter of pulling it out and applying it to the questions appropriately!

i just had my final transcripts sent to the state board of nursing this past friday on the 6th. i graduated on sunday, the 8th, and i received my att by e-mail on monday, the 9th. it happened a lot faster than i thought it would. i'm not ready to take the nclex yet though. i want to study a little more. my goal is to try to take it before i start working on june 20th.

we had to wait until our graduation date was posted to our transcript as well, which must be some huge ordeal based on the time frame to get them done.

i need to learn some serious patience here. it's just frustrating when you are told over and over how long this takes to get transcripts sent and how the records office is working hard to get it done but then you go in the office and they are having potlucks, sitting at a computer looking at pictures or telling jokes and eating popcorn :angryfire

I finished classes on April 22nd, got my grades on April 26th, graduation was April 30th, transcript didn't go to BRN until May 5th :angryfire :angryfire and I am still waiting for my ATT. What state are you applying for licensure in? Maybe my state is just SLOW...

Be aware that you will not recieve the ATT until after you register with Pearson-Vue and pay the $200 fee for the exam. Since last year, they are the ones that actually mail out the ATT, once they receive word from your state Board of Nursing............ :)

For me, it was well over a month, maybe even close to 2 months after graduating. I graduated in early December and got my ATT in Jan or Feb.

I got my ATT through email today. I really wasn't expecting it this soon but glad that I got it none the less.

Thanks to everyone who posted!! Have a great evening!!

when i did my lpn 3 months, my rn just over month.

lpn - they (state board) never put my finger prints with my name it took 5 phone calls to get their ok to test then it took the nclex 3 week to get the att to me. i started back to school 2 year that monday and took the test on tue pass with think 85.

rn- nclex never put the check with the right name. only took 3 phone calls to get it right. took the test in late july

pass with 100 questions. the teachers were so worried that i would'nt pass.

the day you get out of school and pass, take the weekend off get some sleep. after 2 years of none you need it. take grad weekend off. then sit down and go through the review book, until the test. a good book is " medical surgical nursing recall" by lippincott, nice out lines and key points questions. hard questions are not the first s/s it's the ones that are down the list. look at early s/s too

give your self at least 3 weeks of study. quick review of what you know and more in areas that you don't know.

study everything.... meds, drug calc's, med surg, peds and who are the most critial of your pt you need to see. also charge nurse stuff. which nurse or cna with what pt. blood, iv push meds ect.

thet more you study the more you know the less surpised you'll be.

when you pass and i know you will, remeber when you go to work don't try and be a "super nurse" but be a safe one.

thanks for the info. i bit the bullet and scheduled my test for june 7. that should give me a good 3 weeks to study and feel prepared. i have talked myself into going to the site the week before to make sure that i can find it ok and getting a room for the night before. our instructors suggested that so we wouldn't have problems with traffice etc and could really relax. hope to find a hotel room with a hot tub or something so i can really chill out the night before. was going to go with a friend but decided i would probably do better off alone.

anyway, i will be sweatin bullets til then. have a review course that starts monday and goes through wednesday, then cpr recert on thursday. looking forward to preparing for nclex so i can get passed that and then really let loose and celebrate.

thanks again for the info.

By the way congrad :balloons: :rotfl:

Now make us prod I want to retire one day.

My pinning is this Wednesday the 18th and my graduation is Saturday the 21st. I'm planning on going to visit my boyfriend in Indiana from June 12-20, and then he is coming back to visit me from the 20-27. Should I take the Nclex before I go visit him if I can get things scheduled that fast? Do you think I could schedule it that soon? It seems a lot of people here scheduled it pretty quickly. Knowing my school though, they'll take ages to send out whatever they need to for us to be eligable. I think it would be much better though to have it done and over with so I can enjoy my time with him. Then I'll have almost a month until I start work on July 11.

Did you guys have to mail in an application with $35 to your state boards? I hope that my school is not doing things slowly by using snail mail when we can use other ways...
