From where I live, I have to drive 45 minutes to get to the train station, then ride another 30-40 minutes, to get to my job. I live in the southern suburbs, and all the decent paying jobs are in the northern part of the City. There's even talk that my present employer may be moving further north...and away from the rapid rail lines. If that happens...well, I guess I'll have to pack up my house and move it up there:o
I live about 4 blocks from campus. We have lousy luck with cars so I wanted to be close. I walked to classes every day for the Fall semester. My clinicals are on the other side of town about 2 miles. If I have to, I can walk or ride my daughter's bike. I have clinical on Mondays from 8.00am to 11.30am. I have lecture on Tuesday and Thursday from 8.00am to 10.30 am On Wednesday I have lab on campus from 8.00am to 12.50pm I don't have classes on Friday.
My kids [4] catch the bus between 7.30-7.35am. My daughter doesn't have her license yet because she blew off her freshman yr. She will be 17 in Aug. My 12 yr. old has severe dyslexia and is only in the 5th grade. My 11 yr. old is also in the 5th grade and doing well. My 8 y/o is in 3rd. grade and has a reading level on 1st grade 8th month. They all start in new schools in the Fall of 2003, so there will be some MAJOR adjusting to get used to. I have been a SAHM for 17yrs. My husband and kids support me, but they also want me HOME!
Thanks for listening!
In His Grace,
Karen

I was just accepted into a wonderful program which will give me the BSN by June, 2005, but the commute to the university is FAR! The clinicals will be at hospitals near me, but I'm wondering how I'll survive the trip. How long is your commute?
