Hello,

I was just curious to know how you all feel about internet courses. I am thinking about taking a internet course in A & P I and the only reason that I am doing that is because I had to drop it in this summer because it was too much going on. I did not drop it though until the very end. So I was just curious; for those students that have taken internet courses. How was it?

I took my A&PII course on the internet. I loved it. The instructor would usually give us a time span of about 5 days to take the test. This is what I really enjoyed the most about the class. But don't think because it is on the web it will be a piece of cake. My instructor would ask questions that you would have to know something about the topic in order to get the correct answer. I mean it wasnt as easy as a fill in the blank answer! Also our test were timed(usually 50 minutes). Once you opened up the test, you had to take it. You couldnt change your mind because it wouldn't let u back in once you opened it. Another good thing about web test is it will tell you your grade as soon as you are done. I loved it also because the only time you have to go in to an actual physical class was for the final, and my instructor gave you two date choices on this. I would recommend it!

I love internet courses as well, but our college does not offer A&P over the internet. You just have to condition yourself to study and get the work done.

Good luck.

i would have loved to have taken a lot of my pre-reqs online, especially a&p's, i could have spent more time studying and less time on the road driving !!

are online courses transferable to other colleges? just curious.

thanks. :nurse:

Yes they are transferrable to other colleges and here we only pay $ 76.00 for a internet class. A lot of my friends that is all they want to take are internet courses. I know though they are not to be taken lightly. It states in the program here "It is for highly motivated students".

I'm not sure I would want to take A&P online. I've never taken a science course online, but I'm assuming there are no labs online to take with the lecture? During my labs, we did a few disections and experiments. I would think you would miss out on such great opportunities without the hands-on lab work.

I wish I could have taken it online! I didn't learn much about HUMAN anatomy by disecting a CAT! Plus, my lab instructor didn't know the liver from the lungs (found that out the first day), a pancreas from a spleen, or a male cat from a female cat!! So lab did NOTHING for me ... at least in A&P II.

I've taken lots of classes on the Internet. Medical Terminology, Algebra, English Comp, English Lit - I love it! But, I've never taken a Science course on the Internet, because my college doesn't offer them due to the lab work.

I'm all for Internet classes, but I do miss the interaction at times.

Just from a practical standpoint I would love to take as many courses as I could online just because I have to juggle working full time with going to school. I'm very motivated and computer savvy so it would be great for me. My problem is just finding a place that offers online classes. I'm in the Atlanta area and am starting to reconsider my choice to go to Georgia State for Kennesaw State Univ. just because they have offerred a number of thier nursing courses online and the class hours for non-online courses are much more managable.

I took Psycology online and got an A. I loved that class! This fall, I have Public Speaking and Sociology over the internet. Public Speaking...that should be interesting!

I don't think I would want to take a Science course over the internet, but maybe it would be all right.....

Good Luck to you!

With our internet A & P you have to come in once a week for 2 hours for Lab it is required. So therefore you are still getting to do the hands on in Lab. You just get to take your test and some quizzes online. Even in our lab class we will have to take some quizzes. I have heard a lot of great things about internet courses. I guess it is just up to the individual. I will let you know after this semester what I think. LOL LOL
