Schedule the test and go take it. When the results come back that say you passed, you were ready. Nobody ever thinks they are ready enough. You just have to give it a shot at some point in time.
I am soooo ready to schedule. The problem is theat EC takes forever. It took them a week to post my bill so I could pay my grad fee. This was done today. Now they sent off my completion paper to Minnesota. Hoping that in 2 weeks I'll get my ATT.
How long would it take?
I am hoping to schedule NCLEX-RN in June, maybe last week!!
I know I'll never be really "readY" just was wondering if on all the practice questions I do what is a good percentage to have?
: )

Such a good question! I am right there with you. I am 8 weeks out. I am studing the Saunders Q and A book. I am also looking into doing the Kaplan NCLEX RN Review. Study groups and lots of time hitting the books. It is something you can't cram for. Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm with caliotter3, you don't know you just have to go take it. Many people find comfort in comparing scores to those who have passed but many people find that to be misleading. Seeing my prep scores in the same range as folks who had passed the NCLEX gave me hope that I might pass but I also saw people post scores much higher who failed so...
I think what really gave me the most confidence was understanding how the NCLEX worked. Reminding myself that I only needed to score a 50% to pass made me feel a lot better about testing.

50% on NCLEX to pass? I thought you just had to keep your head above their passing rate line. Or were you referring to prep test score of 50%?
The idea is that the computer is looking for the point where you will get the questions right if you are given anything easier and get the questions wrong if you are given anything more difficult and is that point above or below the passing standard. Perhaps it is different for those who take HESI and ATI but I went to school before those tests and my exams were all centered around getting a certain number of questions correct. The thought of getting 75-265 questions covering any topic covered in my four years of schooling was pretty overwhelming so realizing that I didn't need to get 85% correct to pass (as in school) was a relief for me.
Prep test scores vary by source but the lowest I've heard are Kaplan and they suggest 65%.
That makes me feel somewhat better from what your idea is of the scores. I started studying three weeks ago and average 55-60% of practice exams from Saunders. I don't think I am ready yet, but close. Hoping to test next month.
I wish I could take time off work!! So tired after an 9 hour day, then tend to my family duties, then get to study after 9pm has really taken a toll on me.
Thanks for your advise all!

this is on the ncsbn website and goes on level you answer right and at what %
nclex examination decisions are not based on the number or percentage of items answered correctly, but rather on the difficulty of the items that a candidate can answer correctly 50% of the time. cat administers test items with difficulty levels such that each candidate will answer about half correctly; these items provide the most information. thus, all candidates answer about 50% correctly. passing candidates answer 50% of more difficult items correctly, and failing candidates answer 50% of easier items correctly.

Wow, did not know this. Thanks Silverdragon for the information.

I think that if score >65% responding to 60 questions in 60 minutes consistent using a wide variety of questions you are ready
