This might be one of the craziest questions someone may ask, but what do you guys use to wash ya'll white scrubs and keep them white? What kind of detergent?

Hi! The thing I found that worked best was actually called Iron Out - powder that I get at Wal Mart or a hardware store - it's in the plumbing supply section. It does a really good job keeping whites white. I don't use it every wash - and doesn't take much.

My dad said he used to keep his Navy whites really white by giving them a final rinse in salt water and then hanging them to dry in the sun. He said it worked like nothing else and never caused graying.

When I was in the Navy and working in the clinic in my whites, I used a bleach pen for the smaller stuff, and OxyClean in every load.

I just used the little Tide pods, and always wash my whites in warm water( be careful, some scrubs will shrink).

There's a cleaning supply called CLR (Calcium-Lime-Rust) that is sprayed on shower doors, faucets, tarnished metal fixtures, rusty doorjambs and other places around the house that are prone to mineral buildup. It is sold at Walmart, Target and most grocery stores.
Place a small amount of this cleaner in the washing machine along with a small amount of detergent and a cup of bleach. Your whites will stay white.

I also use the Tide powder detergent and the Tide pods. For stains like GI fluid or even blood I use ERA detergent for pre-treating or pre-soaking. A lot of my friends use oxyclean detergent. You cannot use bleach on plolyester fabrics--it will actually turn them yellow, and if you use a laundry mat usually the dryers are too hot and they will also turn your whites to yellow.
