How do I stay positive?

Published

Its hurts when you can not pass the NCLEX. You get back on and ride again to overcome the fear of failure but it happens again. I think it might be anxiety but its not, I think it might be knowledge deficit. But am not sure but how can I keep moving forward to pass the NCLEX once and for all?

Are you testing for RN or PN? if you look at the NCLEX threads some people are going with suzanne's plan (not for sure if I spelled her name correctly). You may want to check that out, she asks of you to purchase the saunders comprehensive review for RN or PN new edition. Then she has a list of other things you must follow. And dont give up ,stay positive ,you can do it and once you believe you will pass.

Remember you made it through nursing school... thats hard enough. You are capable of passing. Keep in mind there are many others out there who didn't pass and that doesn't make them less a nurse. Someone told me once " what do they say about the nurse who didn't pass boards? She/He is a nurse." this is just a bump in the road and you need to stay confident no matter how hard it feels right now. You can do this and you will!

How about your not alone and trust and believe prayer answers everything and having faith. See I'm not giving up you better ask people on here failure is when you give up.. I refuse just look at it like this it's not your time thats all. But it soon will be shoot, I ask myself why is all my friends I went to School with Nurses already. But then I think it's just not my time and it's how we apply ourselves some people don't have as many responsibilities as others. Don't worry you and I both will become Nurses trust me confidence is the key!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck:saint:

I dont think anyone can stay positive all the time especially if you fail...honestly. The thing is to allow that moment or second of disappointment but then look ahead. How can you improve, Im not sure but I would think evaluate the way you were studying in the past. Did you understand the rationales? Actually, I try to study the rationales. The rationales are very important because you will understand why and it will help w/other questions. Take it slow in your studying. Do what you hate or do those topics that you avoid. Spend as much time on it as you need to. Time, dedication, effort and persistence will allow you to succeed. Keep trying and that goes for anything in our lives. Nothing worth anything comes easy. Try, try and try again...and again and again and again. Study slow and steady. You will pass!

I agree it is tough to stay positive, especially when you're in the middle of such a failure. I just failed for the second time and it totally sucks. But I allowed myself to be angry, and to cry, and to feel sorry for myself for a little while. But after you have dealt with all of that, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward. Find a new study strategy. I am gonna try Suzanne's plan in the next couple of weeks, but I'm not giving up. I'm not failing a test make me feel like I'm not a good nurse. I KNOW I am a good nurse...you are a good nurse. Be mad, try something different, and then go take the test again, become a nurse, and then we can move on. It's hard to stay positive, but don't give up...you can do this!! :icon_hug:
