Is it really hard for a male to become a male nurse in OR? How do women (as a patient) feel about it and would I get a stare from a patient? Plus does a patient have the right to ask for a female instead of a male nurse?

When always asked I am in the medical field and am working on my Licensure exam, people assume that I am in Medicine instead of nursing. How can I overcome this by telling them that I am a male nurse. I believe people think that nurses are still females.
Its hurts when you can not pass the NCLEX. You get back on and ride again to overcome the fear of failure but it happens again. I think it might be anxiety but its not, I think it might be knowledge deficit. But am not sure but how can I keep moving forward to pass the NCLEX once and for all?
