Exactly what the question says. I can't go into detail. I work in home health care. Do I call the case manager to address this issue or do I need to get a doctor's order first before going forward.

Have you asked someone at the agency where you work? They may be better equipped to assist you than those of us who don't know where you work or their policies.
No one is here on the weekend but I did make a couple phone calls out so hopefully will hear back soon.

I was wondering the same thing, but given that it's home health, maybe egg crate padding? Specialty mattress?
Thanks....sounds right, I got stuck on the idea of blood pressure or maybe compression stockings?

I was given levity in home health to call, write the order and call DME company...
most physicians granted us permission to just write the order, and obtain from the DME company
...in LTC, it was part of "standing orders"

Ok, so, are you on call? Are you a nurse? An aide?
Even though the office is closed on the weekend, there should be an AOC (Administrator on call) for you to discuss any problems or concerns.
Also, the procedure for ordering DME should have been addressed in orientation. There are parameters for the type of pressure reduction DME that is appropriate.
