How do I find specific salary/benefit info?

How do I find specific salary/differential/benefit, and nurse residency program info for specific hospitals? The residency is not searchable on the internet in some instances, and I've not seen salary posted at all.

I know all the information for the hospital where I am currently employed as a tech, and that is only because I have taken the time to dig and pilfer it. I graduate in two months, and have been planning to stay at my current hospital. However, I am hearing repeatedly that other local hospitals pay significantly higher per hour. I already know that my hospital pays low, but this is an $8 hr difference for some. That would make a difference in commuting.

How does one find this out? Do I have to apply to every single place and ask what they offer? That seems awkward....and time consuming. Is there a place I can look? Glassdoor.com is only giving me estimates and it's not really for new grads. How did you do it?

Depending on your location you can look up union contracts. Some are posted public but many are not. If they aren't you can only try asking or even only find out when they make you an offer.

Just call HR and ask what the new grad pay is. What's it gonna hurt? They most likely won't even ask you for your name.

Are you serious about pilfering from your current employer? Do not bring that up in your interview.

I really don't think the OP meant "pilfer" to mean stealing from her employer. I think s/he was referring to having to use knowledge of the employer's methods to learn the information needed.

I would just call and ask. Worst case scenario they won't give you the information but if they do then you will know its accurate.

You mentioned other hospitals pay higher, I don't know where they are located but its worth noting that hospitals in larger cities do tend to pay more but there may be other costs to consider like paying for parking. I have to park several blocks away from the hospital I work at and I still have to pay for the parking. I would also consider if the increase in pay is worth the commute.
