How do you clean your shoes?

Published

The main reason for asking is because I am horrible at taking the time to clean mine for work! I have found that too much can get splashed on my shoes and I am afraid of transferring the germs to my pts, my family, or me. I know the crocs are easy to clean, but since I wear leather and/or tennis shoes at work, I need to know a good way to keep them clean. I have tried bleach spray/wipes at work, and throwing them in the washer, but is there a better way?

Any suggestions are helpful.

I use the Sani-wipes. They're supposed to kill anything...MRSA, VRE, HIV, HepB, HepC, etc. I try to do this once a shift considering that the housekeepers where I work rarely ever sweep or mop the floors in my unit! It's DISGUSTING!!

I NEVER wear my work shoes home; I clean them at work with alcohol.

I use sani-wipes at work. Oh, and always wear gloves when using those to wipe stuff down. Anyway, they take off everything and my shoes look new. Works on my crocs and nursemates. GL!

I don't clean mine....I take them off in the garage before I enter the house and buy a new pair about every 6 months....
