Hi guys i need your suggestions on this, my wife recently passed the recent board exam given by PRC last June2008, in this regard shes asking the step to take in going for an RN in British Columbia, Vancouver. What are the requirements so she can have her papers assessed.
breech,hi!!! your application is moving quite fast....
i'd like to ask if your employer shouldered the payment to the embbassy...and what position was offered to you?
GN or staff?
thanks!!!
I paid the fees to the embassy. They will just reimburse once I arrived there. My position is Regular Full Time Registered Nurse (DC1).
hi there nurses,
i have been asked by george76 (registered user) to share my application timeline in this particular forum. i'll follow breech's layout.
may 2007: first application with crnbc
may 2007: forms sent to university board, 2 x nurse registration boards
august 2007: letter in mail for eligibility to sit the crne
didn't end up going to vancouver in early 2008 as planned, changed plans to early 2009
oct 2008: applied for canadian work visa with www.whpcanada.org.au aud$165
oct 2008: booked into crne for feb 2009 cnd$600
oct 2008: made a job application on www.nursevancouver.com
early nov 2008: phone interview with a vancouver hospital
nov 2008 10 days after interview: offer of employment, rn position, with that hospital
mid nov 2008: completed canadian medicals
plan feb 2009: sit crne
plan mar 2009: commence employment, obtain 250 hours of supervised practice whilst awaiting the crne pass/fail results.
now i am waiting for my visa after having completed the medicals and to sit the crne. therefore my job offer really does depend on crne success. plan b should i fail the crne: i won't be sitting it again (and going through the stress), i'll be taking time off nursing to go fruit picking!
Have you read any of the threads here about timelines? There is no way to predict how long it all will take but I can tell you this... The number of applications the CRNBC is assessing increases by about 20% per month while the number of staffers doing the assessing stays the same. The workload is pretty significant and the process takes time. The packets are processed in the order they were received. Think of how many pieces of paper you included with your application, then imagine having a stack of similar applications in front of you that you must examine page by page... Then think of how many ways there are to make mistakes with the paperwork you sent in, even something as simple as forgetting to fill in a section or not signing a page, and imagine having a stack of similar mistakes in front of you. Then think of having to contact all of those people to tell them what still needs to be done. In this age of instant gratification it can be frustrating to wait, but wait you must.
It is also the time of year when things tend to slow down for administrative staff because of the impending Christmas holidays. My best guess is that the office will close down at noon on the 24th and not reopen for full business until January 5.
hi everyone!!i've submitted my application to crnbc last week but they haven't e-mailed me if they were able to receive all my documents..
how does it take before an apllicant is notified & given their refence number?
thanks a lot!!!!
most prudent estimate would b a month..my own experience. for the moment relax and enjoy the holidays. :typing
