Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2022

Hey everyone! I saw that there was a residency thread for Spring but not for Summer 2022. I graduate in March 2022 and I believe a lot of the Summer cohorts begin in June/July. I plan to move to Houston once I've written my NCLEX! Where is everyone considering applying? I am looking at Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, MD Anderson Cancer Center and St Lukes. I would also prefer to be at hospitals specifically in the sugar land area so I hope when the time comes theyll have the units I want in certain locations. I would like to be in the PACU! Is there anyone else that wants to work in the PACU as well?

For those who are interviewing at Memorial Hermann, do you know if they penalize you for breaking the 2-year commitment? I saw this on their residency page: "Sign a Tuition Reimbursement Agreement and commit to two years of employment with Memorial Hermann when you accept employment in the System Nurse Residency Program." 

I wasn't sure if it's a similar thing to HCA's contract where they'll penalize you if you leave.

Yeah…you would have to pay back a portion of the amount of the cost of training. Not sure how they break that down though

I have written down in my notes from the open house zoom calls that we would be notified if we got the position within 24-72 hrs of interview. Good luck!

Did anyone who interviewed with Children's MH PICU have a really short interview? Like 4-5 questions, 10 minutes??

I didn’t interview with PICU but mine was about 10-15 mins
