Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

I received an email august 12 saying I could be waiting another 6 weeks to hear back, have you? I also interviewed in June

I interviewed with the Woman’s Hospital for NICU and I never heard anything. Rejection or offer. I accepted another residency recently though anyways

Houston Methodist is a great hospital system. Lots of locations and very highly rated! I would assume as long as there are openings on the unit you want to transfer to after the residency program, it wouldn't be that difficult.

OK. So I said before, HCA has finished interviews for the Summer start (June). They have already started programs last week and this week. They concluded interviews about 3 weeks ago. So I want to believe those who didn’t get a call back maybe pushed to the Winter start which I think is in November. I would also suggest calling your recruiters and follow up on your application. It’s been a long crazy year. I was hired back in February but did not start residency until last week Monday. Was supposed to start in April. I hope this helps.

Are you sure this doesn’t vary by location or unit? I was called last week to set up an interview for last Friday and was hired basically on the spot. I start on the 14th at the clear lake location with pedi.

Well I could be partially wrong and it could be by units and location. I know Women's Hospital is done hiring for Summer at least that is what I was told. Sorry if I am giving wrong information.

My girlfriend is at Tomball, she was hired on in March and just started on Aug 31st. So it could be location unit or need based at this point. I know several people received emails saying they would hear something in like 6 weeks. There is no rhyme or reason as to what is going on

Did anyone receive a confirmation email after applying to the Houston Methodist 2021 Winter Nurse Residency Program?

No they had posted positions for nurse clinicians 1 on their career page at the end of July! it would start in October. It wasn’t through their nurse residency opening!

Has anyone applied to Harris Health System and received the GN Packet Checklist from HR yet? Not sure if we are supposed to email them and ask for it, or if they will send it once their receive the application.
