Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

Did anyone here get hired on for Memorial Hermann Memorial City’s GN cohort starting next week?!

Hi, 

Just wanted to find out, for anyone who is in the NRP in Memorial Hermann, Houston Methodist, Harris Health or CHI St Luke's how are you finding it so far?? 

I've applied to each of these hospitals but I don't know too much about them

Hello everyone,

I got into the CHI St Luke's NRP for February 2021. I'll be on 6West at the Woodlands location.

For anyone who also got into CHI St Luke's what was the Telemetry exam like? How did you prepare for it? Also, what was the Medsurg exam like?

You take an EKG class that walks you through everything you need to know for the telemetry exam. Med Surg is very basic. No one really studied for them besides the EKG’s. If you passed NCLEX, you should pass these exams no problem. Congrats and best of luck!

I'm applying for Summer 2021 to all the Houston residencies. I just had a question for those who have attended Memorial Hermann's virtual pre-match day in the past cohorts: What does this virtual event entail? Do I need to dress up and get on camera as if it were an interview? Or is it more of an information session?

 

Any info you guys can give is greatly appreciated!!

Its just an information session, most of us had our cameras off. Some people wore professional dress but it’s kind of pointless bc you don't have an opportunity to really talk to them individually unless you ask a specific question, it only helps if you want to learn more about the hospital and what units are hiring for this cohort

Hey guys! Just wanted to make sure everyone is okay being that we have a power outage... I haven’t had power since Monday and it’s been really annoying. My Clinicals have been canceled till further notice, so I’m just hanging in there hoping this is all over soon. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm ?
