Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2020

Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

So I just heard that St Luke’s has already filled 17 of the 18 RN residency positions that were being offered this round. Not sure which position is left tho.

I swear they told us they would hire a larger number than that for the entire residency. Proceeding to freak out

Didn’t they say in the zoom meeting it could be anywhere from like 30-70? I mean just because they have 30 positions doesn’t mean they decide to hire 30 people, but ya know

I have it written down from the Aug 12 Zoom session that they usually hire between 20 and 90 for the program..hopefully COVID isn't making that number even smaller. ?

for those who's app status says "No longer Considered" what units were you prefering//what units did you interview with?

I honestly don’t believe that they are only hiring 18 people. I was told they interviewed around 90 people and typically hire anywhere from 25-70 for residency . Was this information received from a source within the hospital system?

Plus "first round" does give the impression that there will be more rounds in which they will hire more

LOL well in that case what are some upcoming residency app dates in houston? I know Harris, Houston Methodist & Memorial Hermann are hiring I believe?

Yes I think Houston Methodist and MH apps open Sept 1!

Has anyone heard of anyone getting a job in a hospital (not home health) without a residency program? This is all so frustrating.
