Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

Published

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

Has anyone that applied to MD Anderson's nursing residency heard anything yet? I noticed that they keep reposting a few positions, but I haven't received any info. My application changed to, "Under Recruiter Review" two days ago and I'm hoping thats a good sign!

I applied and heard back. They're only hiring those who have passed the NCLEX (I take mine in a couple weeks), so am supposed to contact them once I have passed. I think they're likely only contacting those who already have graduated right now.

Got a second interview from Methodist for the Medical Neurology and Eye/ENT Surgery (Jones 10 and/or 11) unit. Does anyone know any thing about this unit?

Did they contact you through email or did they call? I emailed them and have already graduated, but I was hoping to hear something by now.

Congrats! Any tips on taking the NCLEX?

I highly recommend UWorld! I know some people who didn't think it was like the NCLEX but tbh I think it helped me out tremendously. Reading the rationals on every question really helped reinforce the knowledge from nursing school. I did all the test bank questions on UWorld and divided it up between 75-100 questions per day! I also recommend taking the practice assessments UWorld offers, if you can. ?

still waiting on Methodist TMC to send out offer for OR! anyone interested in the OR heard anything or know when we will get offers?

I’m a little late but good luck to the people interviewing for St. Luke’s today !! And to the people that already interviewed, how’s it going ?

I wish this wasn’t so competitive and they’d just give us positions ?

Just letting everyone know that for St Luke’s the interviews weren’t in a group - they separated us into our own breakout sessions with interviewers. for those who weren’t sure!!

I just never thought that it would be this difficult to find a job.... especially with a BSN

So I’m not 100% sure but it sounds like today was for TMC and the 22nd is for the other campuses. I know someone who is interviewing for The Woodlands on the 22nd.

anyone get a call from TCH?? I just got a call to interview for PICU!!! Anyone know how to prepare????
