Houston GN Residencies

I will be a new grad in May 2011 with my BSN and I have applied to a few residencies such as St. Luke's and Memorial Hermann, but I can't seem to find any of the other hospital's postings yet. Has anyone else been able to?

Trill....do u know how many people out of the 500 HCHD is interviewing...I know several ppl who got interviews, but don't know how many more they will see...

Well, to be fair, they are taking the time to look through ALL 500+ applications so that everyone gets a fair shot to at least have their app looked at. The problem is that it takes FOREVER! So people will have a 'hold' on their statuses for a while... so don't freak out too much LOL.I spoke to my director and they said that more likely than not BSNs will have priority in consideration. But HCHD is usually really relaxed with their ADN/BSN selection (compared to other hospitals). My recruiter said that after they look through everyone, then they go to a lady who will start selecting those who met the minimum requirements (and maybe who she is interested in...who knows?) for an interview. No specific #s yet, because they are only half way on their app review. But knowing them, they are usually fair. The first batch of interviews were ONLY based on who was on the top of the stack at the time... THATS IT. They are still going through and more people will be interviewed. If it makes you all relax a *little bit* more, I haven't shown up in their massive pile yet... so even I haven't been asked for an interview yet.

Princess what school do you go to?? And yeah most the hospitals are done hiring. One of my friends got a job at methodist but she did their summer internship there so they already knew her. Good luck everyone its a tough stressful time for us all :(

She got another one. They are still interviewing for their OR, because she was going to but when they offered her the position she really wanted she just took it.

For everyone who did Ben Taub some of my classmates are getting interviews who applied late to Ben Taub so I don't think when you put your application in matters

I called today and the lady I talked to said they have started interviews and to call her back on Monday. So I don't know if I will be getting a interview. But I was just wondering since I applied about a month ago
