Hello Leighlou333, I was wondering if you could please answer some questions that I have about the Math Test. Were you e-mailed back about the time of the test or did you have to sign up in person? Also, was the reveiw sheet helpful enough or did you have to use other resources? Thanks!

Hello everyone!I am also going to Hcc for the nursing program but i am extremely confused.

I just graduated from High school this year 2010. And I want to become a Rn. And so i came across

a ad that said Hcc had a nursing program.I'm the first in my family to attend college so I'm getting help from no one! And i'm way confused.I'm going to a information session they are having this july 27th i believe. And i have a few questions if anyone is willing to help me out please.The thing is Don't i have to get my bascis out of the way.

-Or do i also do my bascis there?

-Is the program hard?

-What do i have to do inorder to get in the program?

I know i should go to there session and many of my answers will be answered but i also don'twant to look a stupid up there.

Does anyone know when the fall 2010 pharm classes will be selected?

It depedns on when you took the HESI exam. They usually send you the notice by mail approximately two weeks after they receive your passed HESI results. I e-mail the school the ADN deprt. and they said I should receive something in the mail this week. I want to go ahead and take the pharm this fall as I am applying for the BSN at another school as well. Hope that helps!

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong thread. I'm new to this site so please bare with me.

I was selected to take HCC's Pharmacology class for this Fall 2010. If I have everything complete: prereq's, shots, physical, cpr, background check etc....and pass this Pharacology class and the math tests at the end of the semester Dec 2010, will my admission be for Spring 2011? I'm a bit confused because my application submission/deadline was for Spring 2011, but others tell me that there is a waiting period of a semester. I don't want to ask the ADN office because they're so busy right now and I've asked them enough questions to annoy them for the entire year. LOL.

Also does anyone know anything about the new ADN rating scale for new admissions? This was in my packet given during the info session and it's some sort of point rating scale. Has anyone heard of what kind of total points they are looking for? On the form it also says to put the GPA and notated that *Must be 3.0. Does anyone know if that cummulative GPA or Prereq GPA?

For the August 30th orientation, I will attend the morning class. I am hoping they will let me switch to evening as there's been a change in my family schedule. I'll know for sure by Monday morning. How about you? Morning or evening?

Also do you know about which semester we'd be eligible for entrance? And anything about rating scale?

I'll be attending the morning orientation on the 30th and taking the class in the mornings. I e-mailed Mrs. Portersanches regarding when would our start date be if we pass the pharm class and the math test and she said they will answer that question during orientation on the 30th.

I'm not sure about the rating scale, the good thing is that they accept quite a large number of students I've heard about 200 compare to the BSN programs in which 80 is usually the highest. So hopefully we do have a chance!

Katie: Do you know if must purchase the pharmacology books prior to orientation? Also, we arenot able to register in that class yet right? until we complete the orientation.. Thanks!

Well the letter says we can purchase the books but it also says req'd textbooks will be discussed in the orientation. I was going to wait until after the orientation to purchase it but I think its better to purchase before then. I would just make sure to keep in original packaging until they've approved the books.

Katie: did you purchased the books at the HCC bookstore or online? what is the estimate cost please.. thank you )
