Hi to everyone! I have a couple of questions about hcc adn program.
First how many students do they accept for the fall semester?
If you have taken pharm at another school do they accept the class or will I have to take their pharm class?
How do they rank applicants ( Point system etc)
Is it really hard to get into their program? ( sorry I know that may seem dumb to ask)
I have finished all of the required pre reqs fairly good grades I have 2 C's. I took pharm at lonestar college. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks alot!
I'm just wondering about pharmacology...
If you look at HCCs admission steps, on 4.RNSG 1301 - Pharmacology (Course must be completed within 2yrs prior to A.D.N. admission) you will be contacted if you are selected to enroll in this class at Coleman.
Does this mean you can apply without this class? It's a little confusing, because at the school I'm currently attending you cannot take pharmacology without being enrolled into their nursing program so I was just wondering ya'lls take on this.
Thanks for the help guys!
yes. once you apply, you will pick a date to take the hesi. if you pass all sections, hcc will contact you to enroll in pharmacology; however, you must be selected … i’m guessing from the pool of people who passed the test. i’m not sure what they look for in their selection process.
@ blue_river - good luck!!!!!!
Thanks lajames1144, I needed that.. I will be doing HESI in few hours . Thanks for your hints though. I did go through all of them. I will let you know how did this go. I have been accepted in BSN program at ORU, Tulsa. I will still consider HCC since the program is in Houston. I will keep my fingers crossed.
I understand that, but it just doesn't make sense that you can be selected for the class at HCC if you have not previously taken it. And if you get selected for the class when do you complete it? Because pharmacology is a prereq for most of the nursing classes you take during the first semester of the program. I'm attending the information session this coming week so hopefully some of my questions will be answered.
