Houston Area New Grad Internship Applicants for Winter 2016

Hello! There are a few threads floating around regarding applications to Houston GN/Nurse Residency positions. I just wanted to start one that discusses all residencies in Houston.

I have already applied for a Memorial Hermann and Ben Taub Nurse residency position. I have also applied to the CVICU, ER, and Women's Services positions for Houston Methodist, as well as an ER position at Texas Children's. I am considering if I still want to apply to St. Lukes. I have decided not to apply to HCA nurse intern positions because they pay beans for the first 12 weeks, and I don't want to work for a corporation that takes advantage of their employees in that way.

I have been invited to Ben Taub's information session, and have received an email from Memorial Hermann HR regarding a behavioral assessment to be an eligible candidate for employment.

I'm wondering where you all may have applied and if anyone has heard anything back from their applications yet?

I did go to match day! Appearantly it went well! Lol yes it is a panel interview but just make sure to be yourself and not act like a robot.

I am just curious. Anybody got an offer of medical or surgical ICU from Memorial Hermann? It seems one person got neuro ICU already.

Those that accepted the job, whats next? Im waitibg on the email whitney the recruiter was supposed to sebd, did ya all get it? I called and left a voicemail, i guess shes not there bc its the wknd... Pls let me know thanks guys

I didn't go to the Ben Taub info session. I just accepted the offer from memorial hermann. It is exactly where I want to be. I'm so blessed for the opportunity. I was gonna go to Ben Taub yesterday, but it was raining too bad and I have to drive 100 miles to houston.

Hey y'all so I have a possibly dumb question. Lol did all of y'all that accepted jobs already graduate/have your license and everything or are y'all graduating in December? I'm only asking because I saw they posted a new grad January nurse internship thing so I'm just trying to figure out if or these two positions are different. And also to make sure I didn't apply to the wrong one in the first place. I'm very confused lol :unsure:

I graduate in december. I start work January the 22nd.
