Hello! There are a few threads floating around regarding applications to Houston GN/Nurse Residency positions. I just wanted to start one that discusses all residencies in Houston.
I have already applied for a Memorial Hermann and Ben Taub Nurse residency position. I have also applied to the CVICU, ER, and Women's Services positions for Houston Methodist, as well as an ER position at Texas Children's. I am considering if I still want to apply to St. Lukes. I have decided not to apply to HCA nurse intern positions because they pay beans for the first 12 weeks, and I don't want to work for a corporation that takes advantage of their employees in that way.
I have been invited to Ben Taub's information session, and have received an email from Memorial Hermann HR regarding a behavioral assessment to be an eligible candidate for employment.
I'm wondering where you all may have applied and if anyone has heard anything back from their applications yet?
Hey you guys! I have accepted a position at Memorial Hermann TMC in the NSICU. I too am confused on the date of culture day. I received an email saying that the date was changed from feb 3 to February 2 and then q following email saying to disregard it. I emailed Haze asking the location of culture day and he emailed me back basically saying that once they have cleared me of my paperwork I will be given specifics on culture day. I have already went through my health screening, background check, and sent Haze proof of me passing NCLEX so I'm confused what else I have to do on my part. I have a friend who started on Jan 22 and he has not yet been to culture day and was told that he will just go at a later date. That being said if I don't hear anything today I'm not going to culture day tomorrow and I'm still under the impression that my start date is Feb 8
Yeah, I was told this past Thursday that my start date is still the same 2/8/16 and to disregard the email about culture day. I don't think it's happening tomorrow. We would have gotten the official email with location, direction, and dress code by now. It's probably going to happen sometimes this month but definitely not tomorrow.
Me too. Finalllly.. FINALLLY got a clear direction. My email from Haze said i start on the 8th and culture day on the 19th. It was an attachment with orientation schedule..

Its chhanged. Im sure you will have culture day on 19th too. Mine was originallly tommorrow and now they saying it changed to 19th.
I just received an invitation to Match Day for the Summer 2016 nurse residency program. Is there anyone willing to PM me, and share their experience or any advice on Match Day/interviews!?
