Today is apparently "burn myself with a hot glue gun" day.
Anyone wanna guess what they are doing in art class?
Anyone...
One kid came up with the skin peeled off his finger. I'm thinking "How long did you hold your finger there bud?!"
Also, this week is National Volunteer Week. Make sure to thank your awesome volunteers.
*I was trying to see how many smileys I could correctly use in one post. We need a *crickets* smiley. (I got very little sleep, my thyroid is WAY OFF, it's like I'm all jacked up on Mt. Dew...without the Mt. Dew.)
You are absolutely right!!! Throw in an open container of alcohol in every class for all to use without question and that's ok but we sure don't want a delicate little flower's feelings hurt over a game of dodge ball. Right before the game was completely banned on our campus the kids were using "nerf" balls (gag me) for dodge ball and the kids would still come in here crying, wah wah.
You would be such a good HS Nurse. You really have the right attitude.

Absolutely agree!!! Teachers perpetuate the situation by sending every kid to the clinic for anything from a stomach ache to a scratch on their arm. I had a kid come in today crying because he hit his arm on the playground, not a scratch anywhere, but yet the teacher felt it necessary for him to come to the clinic. As has been said many times on this board, these kids and teachers don't know how to deal with ANY discomfort. As borrowed from one of my esteemed AN's colleague, students and teachers need to develop a "Suck it up" gene.

Fear of lawsuits.
