I really don't know how to start and where to go. All of you know the story with my super duper work environment and my American coworkers nurses who yelled up to front "you will going back in your country", American jobs for Americans! Now the thinks started to become, worst and worst. I addressed the issues to HR. Work environment became hostile, poisoned ! Need to be out f there. Accountability on medical acts, none nada. If you dare to ask, is a problem, if you don't is again a problem, one hand cover another hand and both of them cover their ***. Who is accountable of something....nobody!

Easy life, no responsibility, big money, few hours.... American dream, looool!

Asked for some measures to be done, because is an unsafe to work in these conditions. Nada. If I use my PTO until they will find a measure is wrong if not and ask for leave of absence is again wrong and I could be dismissed. Catty nurses hung up together, Zuzi is a target, we know Zuzi she is not going to the church, we know her she is not with our colors also, she talk to much, she think to much, she is not like us, she is on AN....... not Zuzi here!

How you deal with something like that? Someone was worked before in a hostile work environment created by purpose to make you to resign???:(

Zuzi,

Unfortunately the only advice I have for you is to leave this horrible toxic environment before it starts to affect your health.

Yup very sad and totally wrong, ruinning the trust in people...I am very sad about all this mess special created, unfortunatelly....

If you work in the United States, please call the Joint Commission and request a copy of the articles they have on Lateral Hostility. Effective 2009, all accredited facilities must have in place a policy to deal with lateral hostility in their facility. Demand a meeting with your department head, HR, and the facility attorney. Take a recorder with you and demand to record the meeting - if they refuse, take notes and have them all sign them at the end of the meeting. If the situation is not resolved....immediately go to an attorney who deals in these types of cases........have the attorney intervene. Take good notes on errors, problems including dates, times and witnesses.....leave no detail however small out.

YOU SHOULD NOT LEAVE THIS JOB

DISCRIMINATION SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED

YOUR EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED UNDER LAW TO PROTECT YOU

Specializes in School Nursing, Pedi., Critical Care.

Sounds like a mess. Since we don't really know the situation you should speak with upper mgmnt at your facility and go up from there. Go to jcaho or your state work force commission.

I agree, but always, always, always, track your contact with anyone. WHO WHAT WHERE and WHEN.

If your records are impeachable, you have more credibility

Rolland is true but everythink is waste of energy, for somenthing that in normal way can't be there. Rolland i am here to BE NURSE, is not ME with this paranoic state to be, not at all! Is not my place here!

Life is beuatifull, we are there JUST FOR PATIENTS, so let's talk JUST about them and how could be much better for them, not for our big inflated egos and our pockets. All of these came togheter, a good helth care, a patient tracked well, a good communication at all levels, a happy staff and patients... well then this is the way! We don't need to ask why is not working, because from the low levels is not working in normal way, is a deviant environment, where resonsabilities are passed one to each other and no one accountable, where the patients are good and alive at the end of my shift is ok even if his problem wasn't resolved, and that is all, lool, but everyone tracking everyone for a little chit-chat at the end of the door, where "what is happen in Vegas stay in Vegas" because we are here since before the Christ, looooool, and we deserve to stay here we did the rules WE are the rules. Rolland we can't act against, we can't change nothing, is THEIR place, THEIR rules, THEIR network, even a new american nurse could be rejected by them if is not part of....., who I am to try the best? ....... Nobody can't is a "clique". I am soo sad....I came here to work, to see my patients healthy and happy, to share, to learn everythink new from here to talk to communicate to be part of team, to share who i am like nurse and human been.

I talked with a doctor couple of days ago....one nurse forgot somenthing... well, is happen , fast environment, we talk, we plan, we start, we done, patient happy, doctor happy, me happy, problem resolved. THIS IS THE WAY!

I am to sick in my soul to stay in their environment... I need out of there, are twisted and hate me for who I am and are a clique. Need to find a way out ASAP!

Is waste of energy, I wish to be able to change somenthing but unfortunately...is not possible...is sad , yeah, very, very sad, to discover that, and totally wrong for patients and for good soul nurses insiede there.

As of January 2009-violence perpetrated in the workplace by coworkers, doctors or anyone is a sentinal event according to the Joint Commission! Report them now! Stand tall, and don't take it! No one has the right to make your life miserable!

Good luck

Employers are forbidden from discrimination based on national origin. If they're allowing your colleagues to be openly xenophobic, you may be able to sue. Contact a lawyer or your local EEOC.

What do you do when it is not a JC Hospital but CMS?
