I recently got accepted into nursing school. I am very excited!! I have a B.S. in health and enjoy working with people, especially helping them make health lifestyle choices.
I am starting to get nervous as hospital settings make me dizzy. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I biting off more than I can chew?
Please help!

This reminds me of my sister. She has always been this way. Is it anxiety? Do you know exactly what the problem could be? Is it a smell that triggers it? It would help if you could get to the root of your problem.
It is the sights, sounds, and smells. After a couple of weeks it usually goes away but I wish I didn't have to put up with it at all. Is there a faster way to overcome my anxiety?

Most of the time it just passes. There are a few things though that still get to people no matter how long they have been working.

hi ADOWD,
I am planning to apply in Crouse nursing school. Since you are already in the program I really appreciate if you could help me become more aware of this school. I am applying for the Jan 2011 class.
I am also planning to apply at st joesph. Which one do you prefer and why? PLZZ help.
Thanks :)

This happened to me when I was in my 20's. When I took my oral contraceptives at night, the hospital was easier to take. Today's meds aren't as strong, I know.

I've had this feeling lots of time too. As someone else said, it'll pass. I think it's the nerves and just sensory overload from being in an unfamiliar environment.

When I first became a doula the smell of birth used to hut me like a ton of bricks, but after 5-6 births I started getting used to it.
Thank you all for responding. I am glad to know that I am not the only one it happens 2 and that it passes with time :)
I am currently looking for positions in the hospital to help ease my way in before classes start. Hopefully this will help :)
Hello Peacemind,
I chose Crouse as many of my friends and family members are graduates from the program. I also took a tour before applying and fell in love with what the school had to offer. You should tour both schools to find out which is the right fit for you.
Good luck!
