I'd say no, that's highly unlikely to happen from what I've heard. If you can, get your BSN. If you can't, there's nothing wrong with getting your ADN - you might just end up working outside of a hospital where there real growth will likely be.
I think I'd like to get my ADN and then do a bridge program. I'm just paranoid I won't be able to find a job without a BSN.

I'm graduating in 7 months. Woohoo! Looking at last year's class , the only ones working in hospitals were working in one during school and were hired that way. But most of the non- picky ones ARE employed. It's just in LTCs and rehab and clinics and things like that. That's really where the projected growth is, so I don't think I'd stress too much about unemployment. Just keep your options wiiiiiiiiiide open.

Good to know! I've noticed the unemployed nurses are the ones that want a specific type of job and a specific shift.
I'm wondering, with Obamacare gearing up to begin next year and baby boomers getting ready to retire, would hospitals potentially revert back to hiring ADNs again? Where I live, pretty much all of the hospitals only hire BSNs and it's discouraging as I would like to get my ADN first.Thought?
Why would the PPACA affect which nurses hospitals choose to hire?
