Hospital who accepts volunteer or trainee for free

Good day to all!!! I passed the nursing licensure exam last June 2009 and until now i dont have any hospital experience yet. I already attended training for BLS, SFA and IVT.

Do you guys know hospitals around Quezon city or Marikina that accept volunteers or trainee for free?!? Cause as of now i dont have the money to pay for hosptal training?!?

Thanks a lot and GodbLess!!!

It's a shame that you don't have any money but yet you're still willing to work for free. Your situation in the Philippines really needs to change for new nurses who are forced to volunteer while the hospitals and the current staff nurses capitalize on your deperation to gain experience. Abroad, unpaid experience doesn't count as experience. You all really should band together and fight these volunteer programs and force them to hire new grads. Good Luck to all.

try st vincent hospital in marikina. hope this helps

sad but i cant apply there because my brother is working in st.vincent and he said relatives of a staff nurse cant apply there.

but anyways thanks for the reply

I totally disagree. My bestfriend is already working in St. Vincent for almost 3 months now. He got in thanks to his Aun, who is a Nurse/Secretary of the Doctor's Offices.

yeah, i think it's even an advantage for you to have a relative (or in other terms, "backer") working there. :lol2:

sad to say, it's the system here in the Phils. You have to volunteer (sometimes you even pay for the time to render service). It's not even a guarantee that you'll get hired.

Well anyway if you are anywhere near Manila East Medical Center, try it out. Just bring usual reqts and a 2x2 pic. You have to make a letter of intent addressed to the HR head (i lost the small paper with the name, grr!). There's Rizal Medical Center and Pasig Gen Hosp too, though I'm not sure if they are open now because it's pre election, right?

we'll help each other out. we'll reach our goals. for ourselves..for our families..for our passion to serve...

the best backer is prayer to God. Surrender everything to Him and it will open doors for you. Believe me.

Some time in July 2009, I inquired at Pasig City Gen Hosp.. they said I should be a registered voter of PAsig, and that I should go straight to the City Hall to pass the requirements... Is this just because of the upcoming MAy 2010 election or they are just really prioritizing their real residents? =)

yeah...i hate backer system...it's so infair!!!

did u already inquire about it, relatives working in the same hospital arent allowed? why not?

well guys, it's true. you an call it exploitation. and really you sometimes have to pay for your exposure. but lets look at the bright side of it, if we volunteer, we get confident on the things we do in the clinical/hospital setting. and its not permanent, being a volunteer that is. with the current situation of nursing here in the philippines, this is the sad truth we must all face.
