I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Make sure it is definitely PC mornings because I was put there for this Fall 2014 and "mornings" were actually 1 to 4pm. So I switched to DM mornings which are 9 to 12

Monday is officially the first day that we could receive our letters. Now we are finally here and plese anyone who gets a letter comment immediately. .. and then post ur gpa along with ur result

Woooosssaaa Silvach....you are stressing too much. I know you got in with your GPA...did you find out the average GPA for the Spring?

The avg here or avg overall? Comparison to other spring classes it seems the 3.5 gpa got in and 3.4 was alternate. Of course it depends on how many people apply and what their GPA is of course. As for avg GPA on this class, honestly I dont have a clue.

The average GPA for the Spring program. You can ask an advisor and they should be able to tell you..For example the Fall program's average was 3.766....which means it was pretty tough to get in to...

Ok thats great ill ask tomorrow what the avg is for this class. Wow 3.76 ouch. I here fall is always higher. Isnt that strange. I wonder why more people apply fall then in spring.it shook me up to hear that, but im remaining positive. On me and my grandfather's birthday dinner my aunt wasnt being supportive and almost made me want to cry. She is always very negative. She was saying a 3.72 isnt good enough, and that back in the day if u didnt have a 4.0 that u got denied. She literally said "ur not getting in with that GPA" everyone else was really supportive but not her. Kind of bothered me. But she didnt break me.

So I been reading spring 2014 class. And lowest gpa in was a 3.2 ..... buuuutt there was someone else with a 3.3 that was denied, and another with 3.67 denied. That person said they took no classes at HCC and he only applied to the program. There were other with a 3.3 and 3.48 that also did not get in. So im confused how HCC accepts or rejects someone. I thought it was based on GPA only. Im not thinking thats so true now. Also letter for spring classes 2011 came 9/17 for 2012 came 9/10 for 2013 came 9/15 for 2014 came 9/28. So just to give an idea. We may be waiting longer. Orientation is 2 days back to back. Spring 2014 semester was nov 21 and 22nd. Both days are mandatory to attend. And all day basically like a working day. So be prepared if u work to schedule any days off around that time. Looks like with acceptance we will see the true orientation dates. Good luck to everyone.

You will get in with that. I'm sure you will be fine. I applied for the Fall because that's the way my classes finished up. Let the negativity from people act as fuel to make you stronger. It is a tough field to get in to, but you will be fine.

Don't let that get to u SIL! U r strong n know what u want! They don't decide for u..u do! Forget the negativity :-)
