I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?
A woman from the Health Sciences Admissions office told me that looking at my GPA compared to the rest of the spring applicants I have a very good possibility of being accepted. I have a 3.55.
Omg congrats that's amazing to just hear! I hope we all make it into the program. I know a lot of u worked your butts off, and some did the very best but life happened and our grades weren't perfect, but in the end we chose this career to help others. I want us all to succeed. Ur findings from the advisor was very refreshing Thank u sweet dakota :)
Always have a back up plan... Not discouraging anyone but I was told I would be fine by an advisor...I ended up being put on the alternate list. When that happened I was so thrown off and didn't have a back up plan. Luckily I was chosen because someone didn't accept their seat, but you never know! BTW my GPA was 3.67

Was that a spring application or fall application? 3.67 is good thats shocking! Well I will apply to usf bachelor program. Im working on prerequisite now. I just need spanish 1 and 2 then ill be ok to apply. And then ill also apply to the fall program at hcc at the same time. I wouldnt stop going to school because I want to have my AA also
I should be receiving my AA in the mail soon I just finished my classes. That was for the Fall and exactly that's what I thought too! I would wait on applying anywhere else because HCC is suppose to be linking with USF for a bachelor program. It is still in the air and we are suppose to be the first class to start it. I am in the Fall program Sweet Dakota just in case you were unaware. Your name doesn't look familiar. It is like a program where we can start going for bachelors while doing RN...that way we are already locked in and have a better opportunity for jobs since all RNs are required to have BSNs
Lovelylioness I remember u saying something about that. Has hcc givin u anymore info on that? When they do let us know because I would love to do it. I emailed the advisor today and she said no one has been accepted yet. She said the avg gpa fornthis semester season is usually 3.55 anything above is safe. But she has no nimbers to compare yet for our class specifically. I dont understand how they are still deciding. I thought they were ahead of themselves. But all is well, because my classes start Thursday so that will be my main focus. I probably wont be on here much but once a day. School is my distraction. .... from school lol
I kno Leroymon. It s been the longest wait ever. I check. My school email everyday and nothing.. Everyday I check the mail hoping to find a letter from hcc and nothing. I wonder how much longer we will have to wait. I'm so ready to. Find out and start! Luckily I did start stats and ethics this semester so it a good way to keep me busy till then.
Also..... Questions.. I was looking at the 2 yr program for rn and saw the layout of classes over the 2 yr period. Does anyone know what they do if you have already taken some of the classes they have listed for you to take.? Just curious....

I been doing the same!! i guess to answer ur question, if they give u credit u might not have to take it again or not be there for those time period! i'm not 100% sure on the answer just guessing that's how they do it!
