Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Ok, now the long wait begins. I droped off my application at the DM campus today during my lunch break.
@ Cindy14...The Health Science drop box is in the student services building. As soon as you walk into the building by the receptionist look to your RIGHT and you will see the door for ADMISSIONS #119, to the left of the door there will be a drop box labled Health Sience Applications and Documents, just drop it through the slot and then the wait begins...Good Luck
@Cookie.Cruz.....I dont think they count "Statistics" towards your nursing pre-req GPA so that "B" should not affect you. Did you take College Algebra? Thats the class that counts towards your pre-req GPA and i believe you must take it. I dont think they will except "Statistics" as a replacement for College Algebra.
@Cookie.Cruz - Congrats on making it out of Stats! That class was a exercise in frustration, and only took it because it's required for most BSN programs. Like FX mentioned, I think they only allow MAC-1105 (College Algebra) or higher to count for the pre-req -- STA-2023 is somewhat of a "sideways" course on HCC's progression from MAT-1033.
Now, if you were to take Linear Algebra or Calculus I (say you took AP Algebra in HS) that would probably work. At least that was the way it was explained to me.
(excuse the spelling/grammatical errors .. posting on my phone)

fxcolon. Can you tell me where exactly do I have to drop off my application at the DM campus? I read something regarding a box outside the admissions office, but I don't know where is it.
