Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Well you don't know how much I appreciate you telling me ,I would have never noticed until it was too late. Thank you,you have been extremely helpful!! I'm here now so I guess it's just a matter of waiting. It is the third time something like this has happened to me while at Hcc however:-(
No problem! "All for one, and one for all!"
i am a transfer student , they will accept my three classe(sociology -C, micro-B, Gen Psychology-C). Can these grades do my GPA the lowest? With these grade(let me think others A,b) , can i accept a nursing program?
Hi Aysekaya:
It depends on if the Florida University System sees those classes as equivalents to what they offer, if so they will most likely transfer over with no problems. However, HCC does not use the +/- system on letter grades..
As for if you would you be accepted: that's a little tougher question to answer. HCC requires the following classes as pre-requisites:
These are your "core" classes and you will need to try to get to as close to an "A" as you can, since GPA is weighed heavily against other people vying to get into the program. Fall 2012 candidates had a GPA over 3.5 to make it into the program. Talk to your academic adviser, but I would think they would want those grades in Psych and Soc to be a bit higher.
I hope this helps.
Deltacrux they told me AS applicant is not a degree but they will try to fix it by thursday
Yup. That's kinda the story I got as well. I guess it has to do with the fact that WebAdvisor is trying to calculate two programs, so your credits attempted is too high thus the reason for the flag (Failure to complete a program of study within a 150% maximum timeframe).
Ugh. As long as I don't get dropped from my schedule and interference with my NS application it's fine. Damn HCC.. get your stuff together dude!
