I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Finishing summer classes, getting ready for Fall semester, trying to distract myself (not working) until letters are sent out, and stressing over my last three "Due ASAP" items on WebAdvisor. Oh, and trolling AN.COM
Lol yeah my summer classes will be done in about two weeks. I took stats,European history and public speaking. And I have been to the beach and pool a lot this summer.:-)

Ahh STA-2023.. the class I loved to hate last semester! I also took Public Speaking then as well (had such an awesome professor even if it was Saturday mornings at 10am). This summer it was "ENC-1102: The revenge of the Poem". Sure beats last summer with Linear Algebra and a pregnant wife!
I'm finishing my A.A. - Allied Health this Fall.. can't wait. I'm chomping at the bit to get done with these "other" classes and get to the meat-and-potatoes of Nursing.
Other than that, my summer has consisted of watching my daughter and providing live-in care for my wife's Grandparents -- one with severe dementia and the other with uncontrolled diabetes (both in their nineties). Mealtimes consist of World War II stores and my screaming 1 yr. old while making sure the burner to the stove isn't on and someone didn't leave an open flame source near flammable material..
Sounds very busy! I finish my AA in allied health in the fall too except I'm not taking connections yet;-)
That's awesome! I'll be interested to see what my Connections / Capstone class is like next semester. It's online with the same professor I'm taking Eng. Comp II with; topic, "Important themes in the Great Gatsby".

Side note -- anyone know any actual jobs one could possibly get with an A.A. in Allied Health other than transfer credits to a Uni?
