Hillsborough Community College - Spring 2014

Published

Hello all,

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.

What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.

Thanks la1717 I appreciate it! I also have a 4.0 but I'm shaking in my boots!! Lol

LOL! Thanks for breaking the tension.. I'm currently on the phone with HCC trying to get my H.S. transcript stuff straightened out. Poor lady in Records probably thought I was laughing at her. :D

Does HCC provide a book line of credit ?

If you have remaining financial aid, you can charge your books to it using your HawkCard at the bookstore. I've done it for the last few years. They set a cut-off however for a week or so after semester starts.

@fxcolon very funny!!! LOL

Deltacrux did you get everything sorted out?

I am going there tomorrow to see an advisor for the first time. This is the reason "My Documents" does not show anything. It is also the reason why the system does not show me as an applicant. :nurse:

Well, when I ended the conversation yesterday they assured me that everything would be straightened out. However, I checked WebAdvisor this morning and the issue is still there. :bored:

I'll give them until early next week then I'll either go in (I live 75 miles from Tampa so it's a hike) or call once more.

Oh my! I live by Largo so it is a hike for me as well. Not to mention that I needed to take time off of work and borrow a car just to get up there. By January, I will need to find another job that works around school and buy a car. Super stressed. :nailbiting:

I bet! My wife and I share a car as well. Never a boring day!

From what I understand, they suggest that while your in nursing school that you don't take any other classes or work. My response to that has always been, "Ok.. that's great! So you're going to pay me to study to make up for that lost income huh?" Yeah right. :sarcastic:

Fun times.

Yeah, that is not an option. I need to be able to feed my babies. I am just going to take one day at a time and work as hard as I can. I know that everything to work out in the end.
