I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Can someone give me some insight on wear you got your scrubs? I am having a really hard time finding PORT WINE bottoms with matching scrub jacket? I called Toms uniforms and she said she had no idea if they had port wine... so waiting on a call back from that one.. Any suggestions anyone?

I ordered all my stuff from allheart.com. They have port wine and similar colors if port wine is out.

Like Juleby I also ordered all my stuff from allhearts.com.. They have a good selection of port wine scrubs and the prices are not bad at all. Another place is Uniform City in Tampa.
Hey!!! You guys know that many hospitals are requirering nurses to get their B.S.N. Does anyone know if a bachelors degree in science (Biology, Biomedical sciences) will sufice, or does it need to be in nursing?

They covered this in orientation but the degree has to be in nursing. Another degree is not equivalent.
So does anyone know about the professor for Dale Mabry Night and Weekends is ? I know her name is Linda Cullings but does anyone know if he is a good professor?
Im already tired of all this reading.:) I just finished reading chapters 2,4,5,28,29,39. Now im taking a break then starting my med calculations on Monday. Looks like this is going to be a very busy semester.
What is the Med Calculations is that in the book package?
Yes, The book is part of the book package (Clinical Calculations). We all must pass a med calc test before going into the hospital settings for clinicals with a minimum score of 80%.
