Hillsborough Community College - Spring 2014

Published

Hello all,

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.

What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.

Quick question for those in NURSING BASIC program at HCC: are the four semesters CONSECUTIVE or is there a summer break? that is, for those who begin in fall 2014 would we graduate in spring 2016 (two years with summer break) or December 2015 (no summer break). Thanks for the info!!!

You break for summer. 4 Semesters = January - May, August - December, January - May, August to December. USF's program is year round for the RN-BSN program...

Happy Thanksgiving to all my HCC freinds. I hope you all have a wonderful day with your family and freinds.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!!

Me too....and they are from 4 and 5 years ago! :(

okay so I logged into blackboard and saw the message from the Teacher for DM afternoon class... I read message responded to it and now I can't find it anywhere? Can anyone clue me where it went? It also had our reading assignment on it.

I just heard that Mrs Mo. (Mogilewski) is teaching the NW weekend class. She was my clinical instructor for NP1 and was awesome. She's a really sweet lady, and cares about her students. You'll love her as a teacher, especially compared to some of the other teachers.

Thanks I appreciate you letting us know. Im curious since it's a n/we class when were your labs?

Thanks for the info on Mrs Mogilewski. I was a little worried about her since the only reviews on her are a couple years old.

N&W: check blackboard for a msg. Seems like the prof changed? Msg says clinical (lab) on 11th...I thought they sd at orientation that it would be a couple weeks in...maybe I misunderstood.

Where on blackboard is the message? I dont see it. I saw that they changed the DM N/W teacher to S. Coleman / J. Mogelwski, im guessing one will be lecture and the other for clinicals. Blackboard now has some docs available to review so i started going over them yesterday. Hopefuly she will send out an official email soon with reading assignments, until then i went ahead and started reading the first couple chapters in Nursing Fundamentals and i will start med calculations on Monday. Only 3 weeks remaining before we start.

I went into the class then clicked on tools. Then there is a course message link. It's not going to be Coleman. The name was Cullings. They don't have their own email yet so they are using her stuff. They (not sure if male or female) said to read chps 29, 28 and 39 in Potter and Perry.
