Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Good morning...help pls...would you guys suggest me very nice professor for STA-2023 class???....I am very scared of it....I hate math but more STA...I don't have any idea what is STA about...please suggest me a professor except Dale Mabry campus...
Hi Aaravi:
I just sent you a PM with my experience with the professor that I took for STA-2023 at Dale Mabry, and a possible suggestion of someone that I have heard is incredible. Let me know if you have any questions.

I think dcrux sent you my suggestion. I think as long as you don't take the class at dale mabry or brandon your good, but that professor is amazing.
Woot!
Congrats both of you for making it through. As much as I complain about my CHM-1032 class, STA-2023 was an order of magnitude worse.
On the last day after taking my final, I walked out of the classroom and almost screamed, "Find the standard deviation of this!" while doing a not-so-nice hand gesture. That class was torture..
I had nightmares that looked like this for weeks:
I swore after taking that class I would never do a word problem or applied mathematics ever again -- this is after passing Calculus with flying colors. I hated Stats just that much.
Did any of you take it at Dale Mabry like I did?
Congratulations for making it through the labyrinth, both of you!
I am taking mine at Ybor. I don't like it but I thought it would be worse. I've heard horror stories about taking it at Dale Mabry!

It was definitely a very rough semester. I don't know how people take it with other classes such as A&P or Micro -- that would be just too much for me; yet I've known a few people do it successfully. Rosaly/PX90 and I have a gal in our CHM-1032 class that is taking statistics, microbio, and chemistry together this semester. My heart goes out to the girl since my head would most likely explode!

I completely understand. After our final in the class, a few of us went out to a local bar by Dale Mabry (no.. not those bars) and tossed back a couple in celebration of finally being done. I understand that we'll need it for our Nursing Research classes in BSN-land, but it was never what I considered my favorite class.
Somewhat close to how I feel about CHM-1032.. but I digress .
Here's to a new semester and completely new (nursing) adventures outside of pre-requisites and core classes for admission!
P.S. - Best of luck and nothing but success to you all; you guys have been my 'go-to' with all of this for close to a year now. I'm leaving the country in less than 10 days, but will be back for the spring semester and all its fun. Thank you for the support, encouragement, and camaraderie that has been provided since applications were due.
Have an awesomesauce Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years! Seeya all with your scrubs on next semester! Those of you in Dale Mabry afternoons, I look forward to meeting ya'll.
