I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Does anyone else's Certified Profile show "HI43 Fall 2013" with a due date of "8/20/2013"? I would have imagined it should be 'Spring 2014' and a due date of '01/08/2014'?
I thought you guys might like to know that books and more on Lois in tampa has the nursing books box brand new and if you take the coupon it comes out cheaper than at HCC. If you take your promissory not or financial aid letter you can take it home same day.

As long as you call first then yes, I paid $575 for the box and all you need is your id, Hcc onecard and financial aid letter. When you get paid in January they wil take out the money from your one account.

I just called. She (don't know who...didn't say her name) sd they emailed the registrar. She sd don't panic bc your seat won't get taken. She sd it probably won't be this wk bc ppl are out for the holiday.

Agreed. They have had quite a while, both before and during orientation, to get this figured out. It is annoying and just goes along with the organizational level of this whole process. Silly really.
I just emailed the HCC health and science advisor and asked when this hold would be taken off as well. I will let you know when I hear back what she said. ANNOYED. Plus not in the best of moods because I just got my flu and TB screening and Titers done and I had to stand over top of them to make sure they marked everything in the form. Plus the PA who was doing everything said to be sure and hold on to my form and bring it back cause they will lose it.....uh really?? I was not going to leave it there but that didn't give me a lot of confidence in office. **BEWARE*** stand over them and make sure they fill everything out on the immunization form just don't assume they know what to do.
