I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!
Hi everyone and good luck getting into the program, I'm glad to know after reading a bunch of posts that I'm not the only person stalking my mailman :)
I was down at HCC yesterday to make sure that they had all my transcripts from other schools, high school transcripts, application, etc. I was really concerned that the Hawknet system was not showing my classes towards my pre reqs and giving my correct GPA. After waiting to see the advisor, he said that they had everything. HCC will NOT update all the information until I am accepted into the program. I felt pretty good leaving when he told me that the lowest GPA last semester was 3.4 and I should have a 3.71. Only a couple more weeks before we find out! At least I hope so!
I know! Time has dragged these last few months waiting for September. I bet the next few months will fly by though. There seems to be a ton of things to get done before Nursing Process I!
What date is the board supposed to meet and letters go out? I haven't thought to much about it with a crazy summer with kids home but now I am starting to get nervous!!

Based on the Spring 2012 thread I want to say week after next we might start to see something...
Yup. I know just how you feel. I will be 40 in three weeks with 2 kids in college and a 3 year old at home. I was laid off after 12 years and I don't quite know what I will do next if I don't get in to this program. I took me a year to finish my prereqs, and now a waiting semester to start. In my head all I hear is tick, tock, tick, tock.....
34 is still young and you can do it.. I just turned 40 and this is a 2nd career since the marketing field isn't paying what it used to.. I am a mom of 4 kids and 2 of travel sports teams. I feel like this is my only shot and I am praying it works in my favor..
