Hello all,
I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!

Hey everyone. Just found out from fall 2012 thread, that they had to take HESI test to evaluate their knowledge. It included bio, chemistry, A&P, grammar...all nine yards....3 hours test. There will be another one later, which will be 10-15% of the grade. The first one, thank god,was just evaluation. I can't believe after all these prereqs we have to be eavaluated yet again....
Are you being serious? When are we supposed to take this test?? And what happens if we don't do will on test? I'm a horrible test taker.....ugh
Well, no need to worry, the first HESI test is just evaluation of where we are, they took it yesterday. It doesn't influence anything.
You take it while already in the programm. The second one (I think they said at the end of 1st semester) will be 10-15% of the grade.
So it is not TEAS entrance test. You first get accepted and then take test just for evaluation. Its just you don't want to look bad after first test, but it looks like you have to refresh a lot of things, chemistry, bio, A&P, reading, grammar etc.....just pain in the neck and extra stress.
Can't wait !!!! It has been toooo long.... By the way is it too late to apply for a loan for Spring 2013?
No. You lucked out. November 1.
