Hello all,
I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!

Well I got my response from HCC regarding the high school transcript situation. The transcripts they've had for me on file since 2007 were not "official", therefore, per HCC- I did not submit all of the documents required for the RN program by the deadline. So therefore, I will be denied access to the program for Spring start. If you are new to HCC, please be advised that they make a lot of mistakes so make CERTAIN you have all of your ducks in a row. I've never dealt with issues like I have experienced with HCC. When I receive my denial letter, I will most certainly be appealing their decision due to the fact that it was their fault for accepting an "unofficial" transcript upon my admission. If anyone out there has any experience with the appeals process, I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have to offer. To the Applicants for Spring 2013, I wish you all the best of luck, I hope you all make it in and become awesome Nurses! :)
Holy crap... I'm so sorry. But definitely, appeal for sure! You said it yourself, it's their fault so logic dictates you should win such an appeal. I wish you the best should it get to that point.
I am a little scared now regarding high school transcripts. I will have to call monday to see if mine have been received. I graduated from HCC and resubmitted them when i applied for the RN program on 5-22-12.
Take a look at "My Documents" on hawknet. It will show there what is still needed from you. If you sent official transcripts with your program application, chances are you are ok and they have them. Good luck :)
hello, everyone. Finally my documents section is showing everything received... what a relief. I sent my docs in march....In less than a month we will get a big news. How is everybody holding up there? Rachanee, how is your new baby? Hope everything is fine.
Our new little girl is doing great! Almost 1 month old, thanks for asking! I can't believe it's just a few more weeks until letters are mailed out. I'm very anxious to hear the news, and grateful that I've had a distraction from the wait.
