Hello all,

I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!

Officially done with summer classes (yay!!!).

the anticipation is killing me again! i was ok for a little bit and now the ocd of checking my "progress toward degree reqs" has returned! still not showing any of the core nursing courses like yours does, jodyprn. :(

has anyone on here taken trig? i've enrolled for a fall online class in case i don't get accepted this time around, i will have a chance to bump my gpa up and apply for fall/13...

i think it's safe to say they're updating things based on the date that people applied. case in point, jodyprn said she applied may 11 i believe; my docs were received may 21 and i'm still not fully updated. i wish they were faster about this to put us all at ease but it's something we have no control over, obviously.

and no trig for me, kkja8855... i only wish they took stats (a for me vs. my mac1105 b) as a possible prerequisite but sadly they do not. it's odd to me considering based on my research, many nursing schools do in fact take stats as a prereq. oh well.

Are you sure about that Gradius? Per the Health Science website, it states pre-reqs include "MAC1105 College Algebra 3cr - or higher (updated 2010)"...? I'd certainly consider Statistics to be on a higher level than College Algebra. And yeah I noticed USF accepts Stats as a pre-req in fact I think they prefer it to other math classes if I'm not mistaken...

Quite sure, sadly.

See page 18. Stats is not accepted for Nursing at HCC. Trig yes, however. Seriously though you have at least an alternate level GPA if not an acceptance level one... don't take Trig! :p

At least not one starting in August...

Only about 6 weeks left!! :) Anyone getting anxious??

Very nervous a lot of anxiety on my end

I'm thinking we'll know the week of the 10th based on the previous threads on here! I'm trying not to get myself too pumped about it in case I don't get in this time around. But I'm going to go crazy if I do get accepted!

Just a FYI to anyone who shows that HCC is still missing your HS Transcript in "My Documents": Today, I tried to register for another Fall class and was given an error message that I could not register for any classes due to a restriction on my account. Well upon further investigation, I found that the college "did not have record of my high school transcript". Makes sense right? WRONG...I've been a student at HCC since 2007 and upon admission, they received a copy of my high school transcript. I also included it in with my Application Package for the Program. And now they are telling me that they have no record of it anywhere.

Just wanted you all to be aware of this if you see "High School Transcript" still listed in "My Documents" as being requested and not received so you can try to fix it now. Hope no one is in the same sinking boat I'm in... :banghead:

Yes I went to the school today and sat in admission for 2 in a half hours. ??????Because my college transcript are still missing, she called over to the health Science department and they told her that they have not got to mines yet. So I would recommend to keep checkin the my documents.

Sounds like further proof that the update of everyone's info is going by the order in which the applications were received.

Just a few more weeks and hopefully we all will be nursing students! in the mean time i'm soaking up the sun...
