I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!
Has anyone done a "Progress Toward Degree Recs" for Applicant for Basic program recently and had the nursing classes listed at the bottom? I think it is new because I don't remember seeing it there last time I ran it. This is taking so long to find out!
Mine doesn't show any nursing classes, just the extra courses I've taken that do not apply to the program. :-/
Hi every one, my name is Ralph, and I've been on this thread a few times since my daily hobbies now only include breathing , occasionally eating and logging onto this website and checking wed advisor to tripple quadruple check^15 that all my docs had been received. As of right now there only saying my college transcripts are missing, but I was told that since I've only taken classes at HCC not to worry about that part. I noticed some of you guys referred to progress towards degree in web advisor and I wanted to poll you guys as to how accruate your gpa's have been, because according to my calculations my pre req. GPA should be 3.33(possible wait lister..... :-( but in progress towards degree it has a 2.938, I pretty much have taken all the classes to get my allied health degree, and have had to drop some classes before resulting in F's on my transcript, but I was wondering if you guys only took your pre reqs or like me had other classes factoring into that gpa total ?
welcome rjeudy31 ! in the progress toward degree reqs section, your gpa calculation there is based on all of your classes, they do not isolate the program specific courses. mine is the same way, i have other classes not pertaining to the program that are factored in my gpa. just remember to use only your pre-req classes to determine your gpa that will be considered for the program. best of luck to you!

Welcome rjeudy31, and thank you for voting on our poll. The only grades you should be calculating are the ones here, so your 3.33 may be correct if you calculate using only these:
Hello Gradius ! thanks for the info., I did just that to get my gpa, originally for some reason I thought Psychology was included in the prereqs for nursing and was calculating it into gpa but that B actually was pulling me down even more so thank god thats not included, I've looked into so many heal science programs that I got them comfused I guess, anyway good luck to as well and thanks again.

Yea this wait cant be good for the left atria,right atria,both ventricles, the purkinje fibers , Im trying to not forget whatever I learned in A&P2, TWO semserster ago!!! can you tell ? LOL !!!!
