Hillsborough Community College Nursing Program Application Spring 2022

Published

Hey everyone!

This post is for the Spring 2022 Nursing program at HCC. I applied for the Fall and was not accepted so trying again for Spring!

GPA was calculated as 3.28

Fall’s cutoff GPA was 3.52 which seems incredibly low for that semester so here’s to hoping Spring is even lower! Good luck!!

You can appeal your withdrawals? That’s why I didn’t get in.

Yes, I followed the appeal instructions at the bottom of the email and the counselor approved it to be submitted to the Nursing committee. Although, the deadline was yesterday. But, she noted it doesn't guarantee a spot in the program; its just an attempt.

They will only count the pre-req GPA, nothing additional. But your GPA is awesome, you will likely get in for fall. The cut off is usually between 3.5 - 3.7 depending on the applicants.

Are you taking the BSN pre-reqs as the additional courses? If so, I got them out the way too.

@Quila-RN I’m taking drug and nutrition right now for BSN. What other classes have you taken? Did you see that HCCFL will have a BSN program start Fall2022? I think that’s dope!

My Pre-Reqs include

BSC 1085 & Lab, BSC 1086 & Lab, MCB 2000 & Lab, MAT 1105, SYG 2000, & ENC 1101

For the upper division courses, I've taken

DEP X004, HUN 2201, PHI 1600, PSY 2012, STA 2023, ENC 1102, & CHM

Yes, I did see that they were approved for a BSN program, which is awesome and affordable. I can't wait until they post more details about it

I’ve taken those too. I’m from Boston, where I took most of my pre reqs, and their programs are different than Tampa. They require much more for the RN program than HCC does which works to my advantage cause I’m ahead of the game.
which location are you hoping to get into?

I was hoping to get into the Dale Mabry or Plant City location. I live in Pasco county so both of them are the same distance from me.

I also applied to a small community college in my county but, they don't have as many partnerships as HCC ?

Does anyone know if the evening class is full?

Hello, does anyone know if they’ll email us to get the information for the webinar that’s September 25th? Also we don’t have to worry about picking classes until November right? I do remember seeing the classes we needed but I was hoping they’d further detail that in the webinar or email us so we can talk to an advisor before we schedule classes in November.

Does anyone not have insurance as of now? I’m not sure if I should wait for open enrollment or if they will want proof sooner.

I believe the orientation is October 25th! Unless your email said different. I was told they go over our classes and clinical placement during that time!

I was wondering the same thing. I go through Veterans Affairs so I wasn’t sure if they’d accept that. I was told by a current student that they went over all of the insurance info during orientation.

Hope everyone is doing great! I’m wondering when we will hear from the clinical liaison. Maybe it’ll be after the background checks clear? Wondering how long that’ll take!

Hey! You still haven’t heard back right?
