Hillsborough Community College Nursing Program Application Spring 2022

Published

Hey everyone!

This post is for the Spring 2022 Nursing program at HCC. I applied for the Fall and was not accepted so trying again for Spring!

GPA was calculated as 3.28

Fall’s cutoff GPA was 3.52 which seems incredibly low for that semester so here’s to hoping Spring is even lower! Good luck!!

Hope everyone is doing great! I’m wondering when we will hear from the clinical liaison. Maybe it’ll be after the background checks clear? Wondering how long that’ll take!

I’m not sure, but hopefully soon. I heard it was a lot of stuff to do. I’m so anxious what if I miss something or forget about one thing. Ahhh

Same!! I keep rereading the email to make sure I don’t miss anything before the 16th!

Help everyone,

does anyone know what the schedule is like? How long are classes and how many do we take per semester? I saw somewhere that it’s typically 2-3 days of classes per week.

You can find out by looking up the class names in web advisor search for classes. Just use the fall semester as your guide and use the campus/time you got into. This will give you a gauge of the amount of days you will be in classes.  The classes you need to take each semester are on the nursing page at HCC.

There’s only one time for each core classes?

I tried doing this and saw that for two of the classes (cohort 4 Plant city) were during the same time and days. I’m assuming it’s all taught in one block? And then labs/clinical are separate?

Yeah!

This is just an estimate going off of Fall semester. Could be completely different for the Spring

Fundamental Concepts of Nursing Practice (hybrid)

-Monday 8am-12pm

-Tuesday 8am-1230pm

Fundamental Concepts of Nursing Practice Clinical/Lab

-Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat 630am-230pm (I’m assuming we pick a day for lab, clinical is assigned to us)

Essential Concepts of Patient Management (hybrid)

-Tuesday 11am-1pm

Critical Thinking In Nursing Practice

Tuesday 8am-10am

If you notice the days seem to over lap with the other classes so I’m not entirely sure how it’ll work haha.

As far as I’m aware. I think that Dale Mabry is the only one that has more than one class time for each course. From my understanding the cohorts aren't just organized into campuses, they also specified times with Dale Mandy having a morning, afternoon and evening schedule. Depending on which cohort you got into I think you can only choose the time that fits into that. For example, if you got into the Dale Mabry morning (Cohort 1), you can’t choose classes that start in the afternoon as they are reserved for Cohort 2.

Hi guys! Im super late to this thread cause I hadn’t thought about checking on allnurses to see other fellow nursing students at HCC. I’m wondering if anyone else was accepted into Cohort 2 at Dale Mabry like I was? Also, I saw for other semesters there were facebook groups is there such a thing for Spring 2022?
