Is anyone else planning on applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program? I know it is really early, but I am just too excited. I want other people to share my excitement with!! :)
You definitely have a chance at HCC! I dont know about Pasco Hernando because I think they may go by TEAS scores too and I'm not sure how they do things. But knowing how HCC does their acceptance, I am confident you will do just fine with HCC :)
Pasco-Hernando has a different point system and yes, they will count my TEAS score (that's why I need to retake it and score higher); however they don't have as many pre-reqs as HCC, so my GPA is 3.8! I have a chance but I need a better TEAS. If my first attempt was a fiasco, I am not counting on getting anything much higher. The minimal I need on my TEAS - to be able to compete - is a 75%.
Is anyone planning to study only and not working at all after get accepted in the nursing program?
As the ones above said: I too want to focus just on my school and family. That should take enough of my sanity! lol
Any financial struggle that I might face while in school will be compensated later on.
Let's hope we get this cohort!!

I don't know if this will help or if you have the ATI Teas VI book but if you don't you can log into the ATI site and print out the pages/sections you need to review for a better score (for free).
I did that and used the pocket prep app for iPhone.... I scored 10 points higher on my second attempt.
I passed my TEAS with a 61. I'm finishing my last semester of nursing with a 95%. TEAS doesn't determine the kind of nurse you will become. 13 people in my class with higher TEAS scores than me, did not make it until the end. Please do not be ashamed of it.
So, question for all:I just took the TEAS, passed with proficiency but a shame of score (65.3). I will have to retake in order of increasing my chances with PHSC, but I know the scores doesn't matter for HCC, right?
Should I apply to HCC now (with this shameful score) or should I wait and submit the application with a better score? (I can't afford not to have a better score next time).
What you guys think?
Other thing, can you guys confirm with me the pre-reqs for admission?
I think my GPA might be lower... I know it is 3.8 with Pasco-Hernando.
Thanks everyone.
Bellalinda, I hope you get in this time. All of us!
If you can afford it, I would highly recommend not working. I didn't work but I did see the exhaustion, frustration, anxiety and lower grades from some of the working ones (not all but most). Not because they were not capable but because there is only so many hours in the day.

Thank you for the words of encouragement!
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!!!

Yes, I am going through the pages with the reviews. Is it the same as the "ATI manual"? should I buy their manual also or it will be a waste of money? (since I have the pages with the reviews from the previous TEAS).
I got some apps last night and started working on it.
I will try my best to get at least 10 extra points.
I get it: the test is not hard; it depends on your estate of mind. If I had taken that test a few years ago, when my brain was fresher and less tired, maybe my results would be much better than the actual. It really depends of "where you are with your life".
But, I am trying not to hide behind excuses...it is what it is and I know I am capable. I will do my best and the rest is pure fate - somethings are meant to happen, for a reason.
You guys are such a great group! thank you.
